Over 150 guests sporting hats of all shapes and sizes Alice celebrated the 150th anniversary of Lewis Caroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ with Mad Hatter’s Tea Parties at The Angel Hotel last weekend (Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rdMay). Alice Morgan from Abergavenny (picture attached), who attended the event with her mother and grandmother, had a fabulous time and posed for photos with the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ characters.
The indulgent event combined The Angel’s award-winning high tea with the creative brilliance of acclaimed Abergavenny-based couture milliner Alison Tod, whose theatrical millinery filled the venue.
Twenty lucky guests wore spectacular show hats loaned to them by Alison Tod for this event. Mrs Sharon Andrews, was delighted with the style Alison Tod chose for her: an elaborate piece of purple Millinery. ‘It was a magical afternoon and being chosen to go and collect an amazing hat to wear from Alison’s boutique was like being a child in a sweetie shop’, said Mrs Andrews.
Guests were greeted by ‘Alice in Wonderland’ characters& ‘Drink me’ potions and sat at tables decorated with Alice-the med paraphernalia, such as edible flowers, confetti made from copies of the book& vintage keys.
Jo Nugent, The Angel Hotel’s Sales & Marketing Manager, said ‘The entire team at The Angel entered into the spirit of this event. It was tremendous fun to organise and inspiring to collaborate with Alison Tod once again.’
